Popular Pets

These are the world’s most popular pets. They have an incredible follower count and more fans than most modern day celebrities. Take a look at their accounts and you’ll see why.

It’s safe to say that Colonel Meow was one of the internet’s first cat obsessions. He continues to pull in $5,000 annually in YouTube royalties for looking like a super villain. The feline woolly mammoth became an internet sensation after his owner posted a shot of him in 2011 to Facebook and Instagram looking enraged.

St. Francis of Assisi (the patron saint of animals) would be proud of the newest addition to a Bolivian Monastery: Friar Moustache. The Schnauzer named Carmelo was adopted by a Franciscan Monastery in Bolivia and has quickly become the Monks favourite brother.

Toast Meets World: the King Charles Spaniel with more fame, more friends and a better fashion sense than you. The suave, Farrah Fawcett look alike was rescued from a puppy mill by father and American pop-culture commentator/model Josh “The Fat Jew” Ostrovsky and his then-wife publicist Katie Sturino. Her tongue perpetually sticks out of the side of her mouth (a super cute side effect from having all of her teeth removed) giving her an idgaf vibe, much like her father.

Boo the Pomeranian, aka The Cutest Dog in the World, pulls in a cold million annually for his human. He is a Teddy Bear Pom with a short snout and a crown of big, bushy ginger fur. He keeps his locks closely clipped, has 17 million Facebook followers and resembles a miniature, fluffy bear.

Meet Tuna, the Chiweenie with a recessed-jaw, neck wrinkles that would make a turkey jealous and over a million Instagram followers. Tuna was found abandoned and alone on the side of the road. His rescuer brought him to a farmers market and, as fate would have it, he met Courtney Dash.

This is the amazing rags to riches story of Tinkerbelle, who started life on the streets, but soon found herself walking the runway instead for top fashion brands. Tinkerbelle, a New York native, is a papitese (papillon-maltese mix) that was selected from a shelter by Ralph Lauren for their “The Dog Walk” print and video campaign to support Dog Adoption Month. Since her lucky break, she’s walked the runway from Levi’s, Converse, Hurley and Vivienne Hu.

We’d like you to meet Pablo and Picasso, two lovable rescue dog brothers that are a unique pitbull-corgi mix. The pair is named after the famous artist Pablo Picasso, with Picasso’s unique face reminding of the artist’s unique paintings. Coming from a breeder that couldn’t find a buyer for Picasso, gave him up to a shelter.

Lil Bub the ‘mysterious alien woman’, perma-kitten, under-cat and general inspiration to human and feline-kind alike has raised over $300,000 for Lil BUBS Big FUND proceeds of which go to the ASPCA. The featherweight kitty (weighing in at a whopping 3.9lbs) was born Polydactyl (with extra toes), with dwarfism and the bone disease Osteopetrosis (the opposite of Osteoporosis). The cat is toothless and has an underdeveloped jaw causing her tongue to perpetually stick out.

Who knew that underbites and dwarfism could be so lucrative? Grumpy Cat, a 2012 internet sensation who embodied exactly those qualities was rumored to have a net worth of $100 million dollars. Although this number has been refuted by the cat’s owner, Tabatha Bundesen has since been able to quit her waitressing job.
