If you’ve made it here, then you know nothing puts a bigger smile on our faces than an adorable animal doing what they do best. Puppies do the darndest things and we have them all here.

We all know long distance relationships can be hard, but that hasn’t stopped the ocean from getting in between human diver Hiroyuki Arakawa and Asian sheepshead wrasse Yoriko. Arakawa runs a local dive shop and has been trusted to look after a Shinto religion shrines, which happens to be under the water in Japan’s Tateyama Bay. Over the years, he’s gotten to know the aquatic neighbors quite well, but his friendship with Yoriko is a special one.

Well you’d need a lot more than your friends’ likes to compete against over 10,000 international entries submitted for this year’s Dog Photographer of the Year Awards. Hosted by the Kennel Club and judged by a range of industry experts, there are ten categories and an overall winner.

One day a hurt owl was found on a porch in Southern California and taken to a vet. The vet figured he had crashed into the side of the house and after looking at his eyes he could tell why. Looking like windows into the galaxy, this owl had unique black-blue eyes with little white dots, lines and clouds.

It’s still a mystery how these lucky porkers retired to a leisurely life on a tropical island, but we do know we’re super jealous. What’s better than taking a tropical vacation? Going on a trip to an island full of puppies, of course. Potcake Place is a dog rescue charity based in Providenciales, an island in the northwest Caicos Islands, which are part of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Animal lovers can celebrate a huge win this year; in certain US states and counties, animal abusers are now registered in an online database, much like sex offenders. The law has been growing in popularity across the country, while some states have voted no, Illinois, New York and Tennessee are amongst the first to enact the registries. Tennessee adopted a statewide animal abuse registry in 2016, while New York and Illinois are implementing them on a county level.

Tennessee Titans cornerback Logan Ryan and his new wife Ashley Bragg are big-time dog lovers. Besides their adopted pit bull Leonardo and puggle Nala, they’re always putting in time to promote adoption and support animal rescue centers. They even have their own hashtag #RyansMonthlyRescue, where they share dogs looking for forever homes, sell t-shirts to raise money and help improve the unfair stereotypes around pit bulls.

If you’ve been on the internet in the last year or so, you’ve probably stumbled across this epic viral video of an average day in the life of Mr Bentley and Brad Friesen. If you haven’t seen it, try not to let your jaw drop too far. Bradley Friesen is a helicopter pilot based out of Vancouver, BC.

No hair, don’t care. Rhea the lovebird is baring it all on Instagram and preaching self-love while she does it. The little birdie has a virus (Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease) which made all of her feathers fall out.
