Jonathan Daniel Hamm (born March 10, 1971) is an American actor, director, and television producer. He’s well-known for playing Don Draper for the AMC television drama series, Mad Men (2007–2015). His performance earned him the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series – Drama (2008, 2016) and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (2015). He has also received 16 Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his performances in Mad Men, 30 Rock (2006–2013) acting alongside Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015–present). From 2008 to 2015 Hamm’s appeared in 10 episodes of Saturday Night Live.
He also had supporting roles in the movies The Town (2010) alongside Ben Affleck and Blake Lively, Sucker Punch (2011), and Bridesmaids (2011) with Kristen Wiig. Hamm’s had guest roles in Black Mirror (2014), Parks and Recreation (2014, 2015) with Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd and Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp (2015). Jon Hamm also played the role of Buddy in Baby Driver (2017) alongside Kevin Spacey.
Hamm has done voice acting for the animated film’s Shrek Forever After (2010), and Minions (2015). Hamm’s voice acting for television include The Simpsons (2010), American Dad (2012), Family Guy (2012), Bob’s Burgers (2013), Archer (2013), and Nick Kroll’s animated show Bigmouth (2017).
Before Hamm was an actor, he was an eighth-grade acting teacher. One of his students was Ellie Kemper, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star.
